Bucks County artist Elizabeth Zack is an Impressionistic artist using a full spectrum of color. Her art is less about the subject than the emotions the subject evinces. Her paintings are landscapes, as she gets her inspiration from nature. What she feels she puts on canvas.
Elizabeth started out as a classical painter. Her spirit demanded something different. She then tried abstraction but there were no ties to nature. Ultimately she settled on Impressionism which allowed her to be inspirational and yet portray nature. She has studied with several award winning artists who have all contributed to the development of her style. Most recently she studied with Ty Hodanish a well-known Impressionistic artist. She also studied with abstract artist, Emily Thompson from Bucks County. She first started with classical painter, Dot Bunn getting a solid foundation learning color palette to mechanics of design in oil painting techniques. Then she studied plein air practicing principles of illusionistic painting and linear perspective with Patrick Connors, instructor at Studio Incamminati, and Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Elizabeth has a special gift of bringing luminous color into her work giving great beauty and distinctiveness.
She is a member of New Hope Art League and Artsbridge. She is also the chairwomen of the scholarship committee for NHAL. Elizabeth has facilitated Art Expression Days of “Empower U” program for teenage girls at the Central Bucks Family YMCA.
