Kim Poulsen

Contemporary Painter

Kim Poulsen was born in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania. Educated at the University of Florida, she majored in Graphic Design and minored in Art History.

After receiving her Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from UF, Kim worked as a Graphic Designer and Art Director in South Florida. She began painting in 2001. In 2008 she moved back to her homestate of Pennsylvania with her family. Now living in New Hope, she thoroughly enjoys the colors and seasons of Bucks County.

Working mainly in acrylic and oil, Kim has a passion for experimentation and is inspired by the possibility of what can be. Color is a main focus of her paintings as is mood, truth and symbolism. She hopes that her images can highlight a concept of truth or bring forth a mood that will provoke the viewer to question and explore.
